Captain Jake Jordan, Captain Josh Hayes, personally Instruct one, two, three, or four students per school, aboard a world class sport boat in the art of catching Pacific Sailfish and Marlin on the fly rod.
Each SAILFISH SCHOOL includes the following:
Round trip ground transportation from Guatemala City to the "VILLA INTENSITY" in a custom van with an English speaking driver.
Four nights Lodging (double occupancy) in the luxurious "VILLA INTENSITY".
All meals are Included.
Three full days of fly-fishing for Sailfish (one instructor along with 0ne, two, three or four students per boat).
The use of high quality TFI fly rods & MAKO fly reels, and all of the flies and leaders that you need!
THE SAILFISH SCHOOL operates ten to twenty sessions per year. The December 2024 through December of 2025 price is: $,3,900 per student with (4 students), $4,800 per student with (3 students), $6,100 (2 students), or $11,400 (for one private student), There will be 1, 2, 3, or 4 students per Vessel, along with one instructor, one Captain and 2 mates on each boat every day.
Lodging and gourmet meals are provided at Villa Intensity:
Our Lodge is a very comfortable fishing lodge with private pool and a large dining room. Each of the air conditioned guest rooms has a private tile bath. Villa Intensity is located in San Jose Guatemala, just a short ride in the new van from the Sailfish Marina, where the Guatemala sport fishing fleet which is made up of the finest sport fishing vessels available in any port, is berthed. From the Guatemala City Airport the drive to Villa Intensity is just under two hours through scenic Guatemala. . This is truly a world class fishing lodge All Sailfish School fishing and instruction is done aboard "Intensity" a classic 37' Game fisherman, with world class Captain Mike Sheeder. Intensity has caught more Sailfish on Fly than any vessel ever!

Blue Marlin Fly Fishing Schools"

During the last several years, several of my friends have experienced unbelievable Blue Marlin fishing, while fishing more than 140 miles off the coast of Costa Rica. Last summer one boat raised between 14 and over 100 Blue marlin per day during the 16 days which they fished this small patch of ocean. One angler caught as many as 18 Blue Marlin on fly in one day, and four or more per day on all but one day of the 16 days fished. Another boat hooked more than 10 Blue marlin on fly per day during 24 days fished in this same area.
The location is near a Sea Mount (FAD (Fish Aggragating Device), located on a mountain top which comes up from 8000 foot below the sea surface to 1,400 foot below the sea surface. The area which we will be concentrating on is the size of a city block, the FAD draws bait, and the Blue Marlin come here to eat.
My "Costa Rica Blue Marlin Fly Fishing Schools" fish this area during at least 10, five day trips (Marlin Schools) during the summer of 2024. We will be fishing aboard "Dragin Fly" a 42 foot Maverick, sport fishing yacht, with twin diesel engines, air condition, Sea Keeper, Sonar, water maker, Icemaker, refrigeration and generator for electricity, out of the Los Suenos resort Marina in Los Suenos CR. Dragin Fly has caught more Blue Marlin on Fly during the last 10 years, while following IGFA Rules of fly fishing and using 20 pound class tippet than any charter boat ever!
Day #1 You will arrive in Costa Rica, be picked up by my private driver and be transported to my condo in Los Suenos, where you will check in on day one (Travel Day). On day #2 after provisioning the vessel, with food and supplies, and after lunch, we board "Dragin Fly" around 4 pm and then head out to sea. After we depart we will continue at trolling speed to conserve fuel all night. The Captain, two mates, and I will rotate on watch and sleep in shifts during the night while guests eat and sleep until we reach the location at dawn. On day #3 we will fly fish for blue marlin from dawn to dark, and then eat and sleep while on a sea anchor. Day #4 we wake up and fly fish for blue marlin from dawn to dark, then eat and sleep. Day #5, we will fly fish for marlin from dawn till dark, after which we will begin heading back to shore at trolling speed. On day #6 we will arrive back to the Los Suenos Marina, and transfer from the marina to my condo, clean up, have a great meal and spend the night there. Day #7 my driver will pick you up and take you back to the San Jose international airport for our flight home.
These packages include private rooms (Lodging) at my condo, ground transportation while in Costa Rica, charter of the boat (Dragin Fly) for entire trip, food and beverages while aboard "Dragin Fly", bait and tackle for teasing, I will also supply all fly fishing tackle, flies and instruction, during this "Costa Rica Blue Marlin Fly Fishing School" along with accompanying the students throughout the trip. We offer extended stays where we can fish daily and stay at the hotel for daily rates. These trips are limited to one or two students per trip, per boat. Magdalina Bay, Mexico, is close to 150 miles up the coast (north west), from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. For several reasons, this location produces the best Fly Fishing for Striped Marlin, of any location in the world. Most of these awesome striped Marlin are in the 75 to 150 pound class, thus making them the perfect target for fly fishermen. During 2024 and 2025 I have located a Sport Fishing vessel with world class crew, which caries enough fuel to live and fish in this location for up to four days at a time. I am planning a limited number of "Fly Fishing for Striped Marlin Schools" during the fall of the next couple of years. I have long been looking for the right place in the world to operate my fly fishing for Marlin Schools with the best access for my students to catch Juvinile Black Marlin, on fly. After doing years of research I have settled on the Exmouth Australia area during September through December of 2024.
I am in the process of planning Black Marlin fly fishing school trips during late September through December of 2024. Port Stephens, Australia, during our winter, January, February, March, and April, produces some of the best Fly Fishing for Striped, Blue, and Black, small Marlin available anywhere. I work with Captain Tim Dean, aboard his vessel "Calypso" to operate My Marlin on Fly Schools" in this Location. It looks like the winter season of 2024-25 will have some awesome fly fishing. Fishing for Marlin on the fly is the next logical step for those anglers who have mastered the Sailfish. I have been operating a Marlin School where anglers join me to learn about how to catch Marlin on fly tackle. I have researched the best spots around the globe looking for a location which has consistant fishing for Marlin averaging under 300 pounds, on a year round basis. The Galapagos Islands fits the bill, they have some of the best fishing for large Striped Marlin in the world. I have access to have several first class sport fishing Boats available with English speaking Captains who want to fly fish for Striped Marlin. I will be reserving several dates each year and selling spots to individual anglers to join me at "The Marlin School" I will supply all necessary tackle and flies, along with the instruction necessary for beginning anglers to consistantly catch Striped Marlin on the fly.
